I am thrilled to say that I was asked to go on Channel 11 News next Tuesday morning to talk about Mother’s Day. The anchor, Lily Jang, could not have been sweeter when she called, and asked me to bring a favorite gift idea, a dish from the Mother’s Day menu and my ipad so that we can highlight the Q&A from the therapists on Dear DIL Diaries.
My first thought was YEAH! My second thought was that my ipad case, though certainly functional is LAME. It is boring (and kinda dirty from my little ones touching it all the time), and will not look very exciting on TV. I immediately thought of the ipad cases from Elaine Turner that I have been lusting after. The mix of exotic textures and bold colors had me at first sight. The biggest decision at the store was what to choose…Metallic Indian Tile Leather, or Violet Stingray? You will have to watch me on Channel 11, or see a clip on Facebook or Twitter to satisfy your curiosity. Set your DVR, I am on at 5:20. Yes, A.M.! The staff was incredibly generous in gifting me one for my Channel 11 debut. What a special Mother’s Day treat for me!
While I was at Elaine Turner I saw so many amazing gifts that would be perfect for Mother’s Day in a variety of price ranges, and to suit all tastes from bold to reserved. Each piece is accented with Elaine’s pink jacquard lining, bamboo accents or crown hardware. Another great thing about the merchandise at Elaine Turner is that it is cross generational. No matter if you are 25, 45, or 65, there is something for everyone. Here are a few of my favorite picks for Mom, your MIL and yourself (hey, you deserve a treat too!). I am glad my husband didn’t give me free reign of the store, because I would have bought it out! I seriously wanted one of everything. I would also like to mention that the staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, warm and welcoming. Actually, the nicest staff I have encountered in a long time. It made my shopping experience that much better, and although I cannot attest to the helpfulness of the staff at other locations, I suspect the entire Elaine Turner team is just as wonderful.
I was practically drooling when the adorable salesgirl showed me the Kathleen Metallic Indian Tile Leather Long Shoulder bag. I adore crossbody bags, and have seen women of all ages sporting the look. The amazing thing about the Kathleen bag, is that you can loop the strap inside the flap of the bag to shorten it and make it an over-the-shoulder bag. It is extremely versatile and comes in other fabulous hues such as cheetah, raffia, champagne, lagoon (a teal shade) and orchid.
The Stingray mini wallet is a great gift for those that travel frequently. This petite wallet holds just the essentials, while never skimping on style. It comes in lipstick (bright pink) and black.
The Savannah Thong Jelly sandal is perfect for a vacation, or summer “staycation.” Summer days fly when Mom is stylish in jelly thongs comfortable enough to chase the grandkids in! Jelly Sandals are available in hot colors such as this seasons most popular shade, tangerine, as well as aqua, pink, kiwi and black.
The variety of clutches available were mesmerizing for a bag lover! The Bella’s size is perfect to stow money, credit cards, a phone and lipstick. If Mom can’t pare down to just the indispensable items, she will have a tad more room in the Lily, which can be carried as a clutch, crossbody and over-the-shoulder bag. The Lily comes in a wide variety of materials and colors, and is on sale online in certain colors.
